We are pleased to announce that Centrum Reja, Poland, became one of the official Academia Liberti Centers. Berenika Bratny is a Director of the Center.
The place where I live with my horses was named Reja Center, as Reja is the leadmare of the herd. She is also my guide. She was the one who never gave up in her efforts to communicate to people and open their eyes to the slavery of the horse in our equestrian culture. That’s why she was called “a difficult horse”. I had the honor to be her student. It’s thanks to her that I understood what is behind the mask, I stopped riding and I changed my life with horses completely.
Now we live in a valley in a small village Radzie in the north of Poland. Reja’s herd consists of 14 horses, mares and geldings. Some of them have been saved from endurance riding, racetrack or slaughter. They have almost 30 hectares to roam with natural water sources in the spring, different terrain, hills and trees and bushes to hide from the sun or insects. Observing them in this environment makes your heart sing.
One moment in life I realized that their trust and their love is something that gives me energy to go on. They are my healers. I saw that horses free from human needs and demands turn into sages that are always there with you on your spiritual path.
Together with like minded friends we established “Okiem Konia” (which means “through the Horse’s eye”) association which main aim is to promote horse welfare and change the way horses are perceived in our culture – not as animals that are to be used for human pleasure but as healers who can assist us on the path to our inner selves.
In the beautiful surrounding, nestled in acacia trees, at the very edge of the Kiskunsági Nemzeti National park, Villa Akazienhof is a horse paradise and a horse rehabilitation centre owned by Maksida Vogt, the founder of Academia Liberti. The broad expanse of Puszta, a horse country, awakes adventure spirit, reminding visitors the Rohan country from Lord of the Rings. Space and freedom for the human and the horse is breath taking there. A peaceful close connection to the nature invites you to a spiritual journey together with horses.
